What we collect
If you complete the contact form on this website, we collect the name, email address, telephone number and message you provide, together with the fact that you ticked the box confirming you had read this policy. We do not ask for financial details through this website, and you should not send bank details, tax references or other sensitive information using the form.
Our hosting provider also records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which is used to keep the site running securely.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss how we may be able to help
- To provide a quotation or arrange an initial consultation
- To keep our website secure and functioning correctly
Our lawful basis is your consent when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. If you go on to become a client, we will provide a separate engagement letter setting out how we handle your information for accountancy work, including obligations under anti-money-laundering and tax legislation.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We share it only with the suppliers that operate this website on our behalf:
- Web3Forms, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox (servers located in the United States)
- Vercel, which hosts this website and keeps standard server logs
- Google Fonts, which serves the site's typefaces and therefore receives your IP address when a page loads
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law or by a regulatory body.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to us being engaged are deleted within 12 months. Where you become a client, records are retained for the periods required by law and by our professional obligations, which is generally at least six years after the end of the relevant accounting period.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies and does not run advertising or tracking scripts. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email Carl@linswellas.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
